The Immorality of the Missionary's Position

It's been nearly a year since the shits stopped hitting my fan and it's time I finally got back to updating this, given I pay for this place and have a right to use it.

What brought about this decision? A debate I had on Facebook these last couple of days, one that has done nothing but strengthen my belief that religion is a blight on human decency.

Belieb It Or Not

A little analogy which chanced to pass across my synapses earlier today, be thankful there isn't a soundtrack album to accompany this post!

It Art In The Bible!

Imagine you are standing in an art gallery exhibiting the work of a long dead painter. The painting, whilst not entirely abstract, is not a simple landscape or still life. You stand for some time studying this painting and you take from it a meaning that you feel the artist was trying to convey.

Omniscience VS Free Will, Again!

Although I've already covered this topic elsewhere on my blog, after having attempted to explain this to a particularly stupid pair of theists for over two hours this afternoon, I feel compelled to explain it again, hopefully more clearly.

Excrutiating Ezekiel Excretions

The following was posted on a Facebook page, “Atheism, Satanism, and Humanism vs. Biblical Christianity”, by Penny Amanda Stone, who I have mentioned before on this blog. The content of the picture, a quote from Ezekiel, needs a response.

Anti-theism Justified Again

Another wonderful example of why I am increasingly anti-theist, because theism can lead to the type of morally bankrupt thinking we will see here.

Archaeological A-holes for God.

One of the things that Christians regularly bring up in debate is how “archaeology supports the Bible!”. Does it? Really? No. Of course it doesn't. Here's why.

Christians, Hypothetically Speaking

Why is it that I've rarely found a Christian on Facebook who understands how hypothetical questions work? Seriously, it's like they've never encountered such a concept. I've asked different hypothetical questions on multiple occasions and almost without fail the responses from the Christian contingent completely misunderstand how the damn things work.

Debating the Dumb on Facebook

This is a conversation that started with the question of why God won't heal amputees. It took place on the Facebook page "The Reliability of the Bible put to the Test - probation" as detailed in my other blog update tonight, here

I'll spare you the majority of what was a futile attempt to talk sense to drooling morons and pick up where the page's creator, Charles Watson, enters - ready to make himself look dumb for our collective amusement. Enjoy!

Please note; I've changed my name to DawkinsDog, my Twitter name.

Good God there's Free Will?

A mercifully short update today, it's late, I'm tired and this doesn't require verbosity.

Interesting debate on Facebook tonight about God and free will. Having given it some thought, I've concluded that God cannot be loving, merciful or benevolent if we have free will, not if God exists the way most theists claim. Here's my reasoning.

Still more Twittering for Jesus

Hmmm, it would seem my previous blog entry was premature, ImH0me hadn't finished their headlong dive into delusion. So, without further ado, I present some more of their tweets directed to me.

Twittering for Jesus

Like millions of others, I have a Twitter account. My Twitter account is @DawkinsDog because, well, I liked the idea of being Richard's dog who sneaks online to comment about evolution, religion and creationists. One of the joys of this is that I sometimes, though not often, encounter religious Tweeters who respond to my comments. One such is @ImH0me, who recently sent me the following comments, which sadly a 140 character reply (the normal Twitter limit) cannot do justice to. So, I shall comment here☺

Atheists Are Cowards

I've heard this said a few times during my visits to Creationist Facebook pages and it never ceases to make me wonder how insane their argument is if you actually give it some thought.

First we must establish what atheist means:

Someone who denies the existence of god
(wordnetweb.princeton.edu)

Let us, for argument’s sake, suppose the Abrahamic God of the Old Testament exists. He’s sat up there, reminiscing on all of the things he has done in his life. This would include mass genocide perpetrated against those who don’t believe in him and the murder of babies. Yahweh, for that is supposedly his name, is not a forgiving God, far from it. He is depicted as a tyrannical dictator with a fine line in demanding wholesale slaughter.
